Sell Out! world-premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2008 and won the Young Cinema Award for Altre Visioni. It also won the NETPAC Award at the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival and has been invited to 15 international film festivals so far. It’s now scheduled to premiere in its home country of Malaysia in May 2009 (if all goes well!). Sell Out! stars Jerrica Lai, Peter Davis, Kee Thuan Chye, Lim Teik Leong, Hannah Lo, Lee Szu Hung and Wong Wai Hoong. It is written and directed by Yeo Joon Han.

Synopsis: The gruff, steel-clawed Marvel superhero Wolverine strikes out on his own in this X-Men spin-off starring series regular Hugh Jackman. The film is set up as an origin tale for the character, and will find him sharing the screen with Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds), Gambit (Taylor Kitsch), John Wraith (will.i.am), Victor Creed/Sabretooth (Liev Schreiber), and Col. William Stryker (Danny Huston). Academy Award-winning director Gavin Hood (Tsotsi) films a screenplay penned by Troy scribe David Benioff (Troy). Disney-Pixar’s ‘Up’ to Get Big Boost at Cannes

Can you wear 3D glasses with your micro-bikinis on the ultra-trendy beaches of Cannes? Disney-Pixar announced that a 3D presentation of its coming animated feature “Up” has been selected as the opening night premiere of this year’s Cannes Film Festival. In a release, the studio said that the film, directed by Pete Docter (“Monsters, Inc.”), about a 78-year-old man who embarks on a journey by tying thousands of balloons to his house, would be shown at the festival’s opening night ceremony on May 13. Disney said it was the first time that either an animated feature or a 3D feature had been selected as the opening night film, though animated movies including“Dumbo,” “Fritz the Cat” and “Waltz With Bashir” have previously been shown at Cannes. “Up” is scheduled to open in the United States on May 29.

First Official ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ Poster Is Out

With yet a long way to go until June, the wheels of the campaign for what is poised to become this summer’s blockbuster, “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” have already been put into motion. After the shots we got to see a few days back, we now have the first teaser poster for the much hyped sequel, courtesy of Yahoo!.

Of course, this being a teaser poster, not much can be said on the subject, except that it’s what it is and nothing more. However, it is pretty clear that what the movie studio will be attempting with this second installment of the successful “Transformers” franchise is to play more on the dark side of the story we once knew. Judging only by the teaser and what we already got to see in other shots, the sequel will presumably be more somber than the first film, more threatening and double as explosive – literally. …read more
